Stiekema Tasting
Taste through 5 wines with me, Mike Stiekema. I’ll give you a tour of the cellar and show you the intricacies of wine production. Biltong is also paired with this experience to bring you into South African culture!
Tastings are $25/person waived with a 2 bottle purchase or club sign-up.
Barrel Samples & Stiekema Tasting
Enjoy a special experience with Mike as you taste directly from aging barrels. You’ll learn how and why certain barrels are selected through sensory evaluation. Full tasting flight is also included for vintage comparison.
Tastings are $80/person. Tasting fee is not waived for this experience.

Do I need an appointment?
Yes. All tastings are by appointment at Caelesta in Templeton, with at least 24 hours’ notice, though a week’s notice is ideal. Click the calendar icon next to each experience to see open times, or call (509) 731-5267 if nothing works.
What’s the difference between the $25 tasting and the $80 barrel tasting?
The $25 Stiekema Tasting is five wines with me, a cellar tour and biltong for a taste of South Africa, and the fee is waived with a 2-bottle purchase or club sign-up. The $80 Barrel Samples & Stiekema Tasting adds tasting straight from the barrels plus the full flight, and that fee isn’t waived.
Where are you located?
Tastings happen at Caelesta, 2855 El Pomar Dr., Templeton, CA 93465. Stiekema doesn’t have a separate tasting room, so Caelesta is where you’ll find me.
How many people can come?
Groups of up to 8 guests can book a tasting. For parties larger than 8, please give Mike a call at (509) 731-5267 to check availability.
Are kids and dogs welcome?
Yes, kids and dogs are both welcome.
How far ahead should I book?
Book at least 24 hours in advance, though a week’s notice is ideal. If you don’t see a time that works, give me a call at (509) 731-5267.
Can I join the club or buy wine after my tasting?
Absolutely. Buying two bottles or joining Club Stiekema at your visit waives the $25 tasting fee. I make about 350 cases a year of small-lot Paso Robles wine, so the club is the best way to get first access.
